Course Description
Course Description
This course deals with decision making under uncertainty. Specifically, the course develops decision models for choice problems under uncertainty, in the form of decision trees. Basic topics from probability are reviewed and used to develope concepts for evaluating value of information. Risk attitude is discussed through utility theory for which we lay the basic axiomatic foundations and proceed to develop procedures for assessing such functions. Additional topics include assessment of probability, applied example and, time permitting, topics dealing with risk sharing and multi-attribute decision analysis.
Course Objective
Course Outline: The following topics will be presented and discussed odeling Decision Problems eview of probability and Bayeslaw robability and dominance alue of information ome theoretical distributions and sensitivity analysis tility theory sychological aspects of decision-making reativity and problem solving ssessing subjective and theoretical probability distributions ases
