Course requirements for master program
I. Students of master program should observe the provisions related to courses set by school. They are required to at least take 25 credits (not including master thesis) and to meet the following requirements related to mandatory courses and graduation credits
II. Mandatory courses for full time students and part time students
1.Mandatory technical courses:
Students of master program should take at least 9 credits form two categories which are “Systems engineering and service industries”and “Industry analysis and technology trends”
2.Special Topics (M0070):
This course is offered every semester for 1 credit. Student must take this course every semester and have to take at least 2 credits before defense.
3.Seminar (M0080):
This course is offered every semester for 1 credit. Student must take this course every semester and have to take at least 2 credits before defense.
4.Master thesis: 6 credits
III. Mandatory course for foreign student
1.Mandatory technical course: as full time students
2.Special Topics (M0070):
This course is offered every semester for 1 credit. Student must take this course every semester and have to take at least 2 credits between the second semester and defense.
3.Seminar (M0080): as full time students
4.Master thesis: 6 credits
IV. Graduate credits requirement
1. Special Topics(M0070): at most 3 credits can be included in the total graduate credits
2.Seminar(M0080): at most 2 credits can be included in the total graduate credits
3.Student should take at least 12 credits belongs to GIIE (including mandatory courses) and at least 6 credits form other department
4.English Facility Requirement
1. Our graduate students must pass at least one level of the “National Taiwan University online English program for postgraduates” or complete level 3 of the “National Taiwan University online English program for postgraduates” during the master program .
2. The students who pass the one of the tests are not required to take “National Taiwan University online English program for postgraduates”
a. GEPT Intermediary Advanced First Level
b. over iBT 80
c. over CBT 213
d. over IELTS 6
e. FLPT every subjects over 70
f. over FCE B
g. The bachelor degrees that are obtained in Btritich, American and other university that are concluded in Ministry of Education reference book.
h. Other English tests that are recognized by Advanced English Planning teams and the canter of Common education.
V. Students who attend the exchange program of NTU or National Science Council / who subsidized for further studying abroad by the Ministry of Education do not have to attend Seminar(M0080) and Special Topics(M0070)
VI. The student will be expelled in case he/she fail to pass 50% of the courses taken after the second semester.(This is in accordance to the National Taiwan University policy, number 75 section 5 )
