II. The content of the course includes professional speaker sessions from inside and outside of the University, student thesis presentations, faculty presentations and plant tours.
III. Each professor recommends one guest speaker. The department chair may invite two additional speakers. Once the guest speaker is determined, the invitation letter is signed by the department chair. The invitation and reception is arranged by the supervising professor. After the event, the chair presents transportation subsidy, gifts and other compensation.
IV. Two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester, the course supervising professor is required to coordinate with other professors and to provide the initial draft of schedules for inviting speakers.
V. Up to one guest speaker is invited to conduct a one-hour speech. Additional time is allocated for discussion, questions and answers.
VI. Course performance is based on students’ attendance. Full-time students should attend all the seminars; part-time students should attend at least 50% of the seminars. (The exact percentage of required attendance may depend on the nature of students’ job. Please confirm with the course supervising professor.)
